BALDWIN PARK, Calif. — October 31, 2026. Baldwin Park residents preparing their homes for wet weather can visit the city Public Works yard to collect sandbag materials through Sunday, November 1.
According to the city’s October 29 announcement, the pickup location is 13135 E. Garvey Avenue, Baldwin Park, and distribution hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday, October 30–November 1. Drivers are instructed to honk at the gate to enter.
What to bring
The city says residents must show identification. Staff will provide bags, sand and a shovel. The announcement does not specify a per-household maximum or guarantee supplies will remain available at every hour, so residents planning a longer drive should verify stock with city staff.
Why sandbags matter
Properly positioned sandbags can help divert some shallow runoff away from doors and vulnerable openings. They are not a substitute for flood insurance, drainage maintenance, emergency alerts or evacuation instructions. Residents should avoid blocking public drains and never drive across flooded roads.
For weather-specific alerts and updates, follow official emergency services and the city’s announcements.
